Shards of Ice
At one time, pieces of a rainbow,
Before it collapsed
Under the weight of
kindness ignored,
love not cherished,
too little wonder,
miracles blindly denied.
Now shards of ice melting in your hand --
Hold them gently friend,
And know they will melt,
Fall to the ground,
Join a river,
Turn into vapor,
Become a rainbow once again.
